Contributions       Demonstrated record peak output power bandwidth product performance (30V-190GHz, 5.7THz-V) of MSM TWPD among all reported ultra-high speed photodetectors.

Demonstrated record peak output power bandwidth product performance (3.55V-160GHz, 568GHz-V) among all reported ultra-high speed PDs in fiber communication long wavelength regime (1300nm~1500nm).    

Demonstrated novel avalanches photodiode (APD) structure with record high gain-bandwidth product (428GHz) among all reported APDs

Demonstrated transverse-junction white-light light-emitting diode (LED) structure with record wide 3-dB optical bandwidth (580nm) among all reported white-light LEDs.

Demonstrated high-speed green LED structure with record high modulation bandwidth (~300MHz) among all reported green LEDs for plastic optical fiber communication.

Demonstrated world first low-temperature-grown GaAs based ultra-high speed photonic transmitter without lifetime increasing effect under high reverse bias.

Demonstrated several kinds of novel high-speed (>40GHz), high-power (>32mA saturation current), and high responsivity (1.14A/W) InP based photodiodes for fiber communication

Demonstrated novel dual-depletion region (DDR) high-speed electro-absorption modulator with high-speed (45GHz) and low 20dB driving voltage (1.7V)

 

 

Publications        Authored and co-authored 61 SCI journal papers, 50 international conference papers, 59 local conference papers, 4 U.S.A. patents, 7 Taiwan patents, 3 invited magazine reports, and 3 invited international conference paper.
